Question
Blingies asks : (Y!)
Ok, so i am in a bit of a situation with a teacher at my school…
The situation is…
I have paid a deposit ($75) for a camp excursion that is to be happening in 4 weeks time. However, i have changed my mind about the camp and wish not to attend it.
I have told the teacher who is organizing the trip about my cancellation and he has asked me for a reason why. I have told him that i wish to drop out because my best friends are also not going and if i went, i will have no close friends to hang around with.
Now, he has told me that if i did not go, he will not allow me to access my refund to the deposit which i paid. I have asked several other teachers and they have assured me that i should be getting a refund as i have given reasonable notice and that i will not be going to the camp.
But the teacher who is the one organizing the camp is telling me otherwise.
What are my legal rights in receiving my refund to the deposit i paid? Are there any laws in place which allow me to get a refund no matter what the situation is?

Please accurate answers as this is a serious problem as for me, $75 is quite a lot. Especially when you are told you are not entitled to a refund. Answers

Understandable.
Check with your principle. Explain to them the unfairness of this situation. 75 bucks is alot to a kid at your age. Trust that I know this, I had to work hard for every cent I got ..
Def. call your local police station if he refuses to give it back.
He’s stealing and should be busted for it.. what a jerk.
